Download and install
DownloadGet Hushowl 1.0.0 (8 MB). It needs macOS 14 Sonoma or later on an Apple silicon Mac.
Move it to ApplicationsOpen the downloaded file and drag Hushowl onto the Applications folder.
Allow it the first timeThis early version is not yet signed by Apple, so macOS asks first. Open Hushowl once, then go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click "Open Anyway".
Follow the setupHushowl asks for the microphone and keyboard access it needs, one at a time, then downloads its speech and writing models (about 4.3 GB, once).
After that one download, Hushowl works without an internet connection.
